2008 South Garden

The Community Crop Garden Society (Community Crop)
is a non-profit society whose mandate is to encourage and
coordinate non-profit organic community gardens in the
South Calgary area.

For a small fee garden enthusiasts are able to grow and harvest their own
pesticide-fee - fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers and ornamental plants in
a public and community-spirited setting.

Community Crop's South Garden
The South Garden was started in 2008, is located adjacent to the
South Calgary Community Centre at 3130 16 Street SW, Calgary.
In 2009 it was expanded from 26 to 47 - four by eight foot garden plots.
It is coordinated by Community Crop with the generous support and
contribution of the land by the South Calgary Community Association.

Upcoming Currie Booster Garden
For 2010, Community Crop is working on a second community garden site in
partnership with the City of Calgary Waterworks. The Currie Booster
Garden is located just 2 blocks south of the South Garden. The focus of
this garden will be to not only provide much needed community garden
space but also beautify the site and provide a pleasant space to be enjoyed
by the community. A portion of this garden will be used to grow food in
support of Calgary food charities.
